Early Education Director

$70,000 – $85,000 per year

Join our established childcare center as our Early Education Director to carry out our mission of partnering with families to build strong mind, body and Christlike character. Our center has served the families in Madison, WI and the surrounding communities for over 20+ years. We are licensed by the State of Wisconsin for 295 children aged 6 weeks through 5 years, plus 100 school age children. To support our center, we have several departments including office manager, marketing, enrollment, family accounts, maintenance, kitchen, and human resources. These departments are managed by the operations administrator, who will work closely with the Early Education Director for the overall management of Kids Junction. We are passionate about providing a nurturing, play-based learning environment, rooted in Christian principles, that supports the social, emotional and academic development of young children. We are able to provide such care to families through the following classrooms:

• 7 Infant/Toddler
• 9 Early Preschool
• 4 3K Preschool
• 3 4K Preschool
• 6 After School

The role of the Early Education Director is to lead and develop Kids Junction’s infants through 4K programs. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring leader with a vision for high-quality early childhood education, an ability to effectively coach teachers, and the organizational skills to manage day-to-day responsibilities of a licensed childcare center. 

A key aspect of this role is collaborating closely with the current leadership as you acclimate to the responsibilities associated with the position. As you begin, your initial focus will be to lead the accreditation process for the entire center including the school age program while receiving training from the current director and becoming familiar with Kids Junction. We will be seeking accreditation with Early Learning Leaders (https://www.earlylearningleaders.org). 

When you transition into the director aspect of this position, you will work closely with and supervise the infant/toddler, early preschool and preschool/4K assistant directors. This will be your core team for managing and coaching the teaching staff as you maintain and build excellence in the program and culture of Kids Junction. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the current leadership team toward the goal of obtaining and maintaining Early Learning Leaders Accreditation, the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families YoungStar rating, and state licensing requirements
• Oversee the daily operations of early childhood and preschool programs to ensure a positive learning environment
• Work alongside HR to hire, train, and mentor new staff
• Conduct annual evaluations of infants through 4K teachers and assistant directors
• Conduct professional development training and staff meetings
• Manage enrollment, classroom ratios, and transitions
• Build strong relationships with families, staff, and the community

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, early childhood education, or related field
• Educational leadership experience, preferably in early childhood
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Models grace, professionalism, and team building
• Strong understanding of and prior involvement in early childhood accreditation process – preferred
• Experience directing an early childhood center – preferred
